New Products and card samples

Stampin'Up! Released a new single stamp promotion today, just in time for your holiday cards. These are single, clear mount stamps available till January 31, 2013. These are never before seen stamps and many coordinate with punches or framelits. Check out the flyer to the right for more information. These can be ordered by clicking on my store link to the right. If you'd like more information, please feel free to contact me.
Next, I attended an upline meeting last Thursday where we made several fantastic Christmas cards. Here are a few of them:

This one is adorable and the little santa is just so cute! He is from the Color Me Christmas set (131742W/131745C) found in the new Holiday catalog. We added a simple white pom pom on his hat and some Dazzling Details (124117) to his beard and hat for sparkle. The warm winter wishes stamp and snowflake came from the Snow Day (131892W/131895C) set with the cute snowman.

This lovely card was made starting with the Flowering Flourishes stamp (131998W/126367C) stamped in Old Olive. The ornament from the Christmas Collectibles (131772W/131775C) was stamped in Cherry Cobbler. Peace on Earth is from Calm Christmas (132736W/132739C) and was embossed in silver. Rhinestones (119246) were added as well as the layer of Cherry Cobbler was glittered using a glue pen (100425) and Dazzling Diamonds glitter (102023).  I will be spritzing all of them with my shimmer spray of course, but I haven't got around to it just yet. I love Sparkle! Especially for the Holidays.

I think this is one of my favorites. We started with Cherry Cobbler Cardstock. Layered with a piece of Silver Glimmer Paper (124005) which was also used with the Ornament Framelits to cut out the center ornament.  The Wreath is two stamps from the Daydream Medallions (131976W/126467C) set stamped in Gumball Green. Then a touch of Cherry Cobbler Dazzling Details (125585) was added and a Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding bow to top it off and you have a sparkly Christmas wreath card. Oh, the Merry Christmas stamped and embossed in white is from Sassy Salutations (132070W/126707C).

This was a fun twist to embossing folders...We Versa Marked the Chevron (127749) folder and embossed with Irridescent Ice (101930).  A Banner Christmas (130252W/130255C) stamp set was used for the JOY and a Deco Label Framelit was used to cut out a Glimmer Paper Label. The green card stock was Pistachio Pudding and it was teamed up with Cherry Cobbler. You can't see it with this picture but this card really really sparkles!

Well, There you go! A few fun cards for the upcoming Christmas season. I've been working on lots of projects and classes to share and I'll be posting more pics from convention so keep coming back. And leave me a quick comment if you would please, I love to read them, even if you are a fellow demonstrator!
Happy Stamping....

Holiday Catalog is now Live and New Thinlits Dies are available too!

So, by now many of you have received your SU Holiday Catalogs in the mail and are pouring over the oodles of fun holiday items to make and craft. One of the surprises we were told about at Convention this year were these New Thinlits Card Dies. The picture above shows their function perfectly. Such a fun card and so many things you can do with these new framelits. They shared a few other ideas at convention as well.

This one was cute, sorry that the first pic is a bit blurry. I was trying to photograph a video screen.

Another super idea was this folding photo book/card! Isn't it cool! I can't wait to get these and start making some of these for Christmas gifts.
There are two types of Thinlits dies, one is a Label, one is a circle. Both come with their own embellishments. There is a flyer posted on my blog here for more information so go check it out!
I apologize for not posting more photos of convention sooner as I am knee deep in 30 year High School Reunion plans. Tomorrow is the big day and then it's back to normal around here. I will post a bunch more next week but here's a few to hold you till then...
There were awesome aerial performers and a live band called the Spazmatics rockin' the 80's tunes...

These were the display boards with thousands of samples for all to see...Can you see the message? Share what you love!

They shared fun holiday decor ideas...

Photo journals made with our new line of journals...

Lots and lots of cards and such on display...here's just a couple boards...

There is so much more to share. I have more from the SU headquarters to share so come back and check in with me. If you didn't make it to convention and you are visiting, drop me a comment to let me know you like what I am sharing.
Until then,
Happy Stamping!!

Tuesday, July 23, 2013

I know it has been way too long since my last post. I had intended to update the blog long ago and time slipped away from me as I was preparing for Convention 2013! Well, I am back now and have so much to share!

The first day and it was a blast! We traded swaps...and all 100 of my cards are gone! I was so surprised at how fast they went. I thought it would take longer, but now I see why people make 400 or more.
We (my friend Joyce and I) started the day off with a bus ride to Riverton for a tour of the SU facilities.

It is an amazing place to work. Lots of fun and very efficient. They have a museum that houses a ton of stamped cards, gifts, and home decor.

We toured the whole building and saw where our oders are packed. Joyce and I posed for a picture at the rock out front and boarded the bus back.

We visited some of my friends from Sac, had a yummy lunch at the Blue Iguana Mexican Restaurant, and then back to the convention center for the Opening Ceremony.
The opening session was great with a fun trip down memory lane as Stampin'Up! Celebrates it's 25th anniversary. They talked about how far they'd come, visited with Ronald McDonald about the charity stamp set SU sells, and passed out the coveted Convention Bag! Everyone was singing and dancing throughout and we were all excited for the stamp give-a-ways.

The After Party was so crowded it was difficult to move around or to see the demonstrations that were going on however, we were able to help pack up birthday kits for the children's hospital here in SLC. We participated in the Guiness book of World Records event of having the most hand stamped cards mailed from one location. So many samples and so much going on, I couldn't possibly post it all. So, I'll be back and share with you more pictures from the week. Until then...
Happy Stamping!

Hi there folks! I hope you are enjoying all the new offerings in the new catalog. I know I am and I am sure there is even more to come with the Seasonal Catalog coming in August. I can't wait to see all of the Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas stuff. The holidays are my favorite time of year! Well, I'm busy preparing for this weekends Card Buffet with my recent recruit Flossie. I will have more fun cards to show you after Saturday so check back.
Just a reminder...the 25% off Digital products ends on June 15th. Don't wait too long to pick up this discount off of digital product and print services. Check it out on my website here.
I wanted to share my card for this month's group card swap. I had fun making it, even though I was up late tying to figure out the layout till I was able to CASE one similar. SU Michele Reynolds made one similar here and I changed it up a bit, but thanks to her for the inspiration!

The theme was summer fun. I loved the bikini made using the Dress Up Framelit Dies (130101) and had to make one for myself. The bikini was made using the Polka Dot Parade DSP (126902) and I backed it up with the Gingham Garden DSP (129310). Now, you probably can't see through the glare...I took this picture in my car before going into the meeting because I realized I hadn't taken a pic of my card to share yet. I guess I could've waiting to go inside for better lighting, duh, oh well. The base of the card is Marina Mist and I used a piece of Whisper White over the base that I textured using the Perfect Polka Dots (117335) texture folder. I thought it went well with the bikini. The saying comes from the Blooming with Kindness (126422) stamp set..."Warmest Wishes"...Summer....Yeah, well my kids say I'm too punny already, so I know!
It's been fun sharing with you. Drop me a comment and let me know what you think. I love to read your comments.
Happy Staming...

New Stampin'Up! Catalog Kick Off Open House

This past Saturday I hosted a new catalog kick off open house. What fun we had! Friends could stop in, pick up a new catalog, make 5 free cards using new catalog products, see numerous samples, eat, chat, and generally just relax and have fun. I had a fantastic turn out and was visited by several friends, new and old. It was so much fun just for me!
I thought I would share my card projects with you today...

First was this fun dress card using the Dress Up Framelits (130101). I have discovered so many fun outfits to make with this framelit set.  I added a flower from the flower trim found in the Spring Catalog. We smushed one into a stamp pad lid that had ink on it in order to kind of antique the flower. You can use the water pen to do the same or even a re-inker to dye the flower to match a card you are making.  I  used  Cherry Cobbler for the base card. Demonstrator Vicki Burdick created the inspiration for this card. She has a ton of cards on Pinterest.

The next card was created by using the Mosaic Punch (131267) along with the matching Mosaic Madness (130249) stamp set. The base card is Whisper White, then I used the new Coastal Cabana and Crisp Cantaloupe papers & inks, as well as Baked Brown Sugar ink. The word phrase came from the Blooming With Kindness set (126422). Add some rhinestones for some sparkle...oh! and yes, shimmer spray to finish! The inspiration was copied from a card by SU! Demo Melissa Davies. She added a butterfly and some flowers to hers....really cute!

For the base of this card I used Very Vanilla cardstock. I used the Apothocary Accents Framelits (127003) and the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack (126187).  The background paper is Pistachio Pudding paper ran through the Big Shot using the Fancy Fan (127751) folder. The butterfly was punched out of Strawberry Slush cardstock and the Bitty Butterfly (129406) and Elegant Butterfly (127526) punches. The Delicate Designs (127023) embossing folder for the lacy design and topped it with the Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape (129314). Now, in case you haven't seen the new Simply Pressed Clay (130685) you will love it! You press this silly puddy like clay into the Buttons & Blossoms Molds (131272), place into the freezer for 10 mins. and ta-da! Flowers ready to paint, or sponge or whatever! You can color them using a re-inker prior to molding as well. What a fun embellishment these are.  You can even press a stamp into the clay for a unique accent to a card. Oh, the words are from the Trust God (126702) stamp set. I love the soft colors for this year's NEW In-Colors. Michelle VanWiggeran is the Demo that came up with the basic design for this card, I saw her sample on Stampin'Connection.

Next, I wanted to do a simple chalk board kind of card and this is what I came up with. I used Basic Black as a base card. Although you can't tell by this photo....the background is actually Pool Party cardstock.  The Labels Collection I used offers a variety of sizes to cut out accents. From the Heart (126557) was stamped using the StazOn (106960) white pad and I drew accents around the perimeter with the Uni-ball white gel pen (105021). The corners were punched out with the 1/2" Circle punch (119869).

Last, but not least....is this little ditty. Gingham Garden DSP (129310) was used along with Whisper White for this card. The Label Love (130622) stamp set was used with the Artisan Label (130920) Scallop Trim Border (118402) punches for this card. The trim piece was Pistachio Pudding. A super simple card to make.
And the paper offers lots of color combinations too!
Everyone really seemed to have fun playing with the new stamps and accessories. I truly enjoyed sharing the new products and playing with my new stash. So, until next time, I hope you all get a chance to look through the new catalog and see all the fun new stuff Stampin'Up! is offering this year. I'll be preparing swaps for next week and swaps for convention so check back to see what I come up with...until then,
Happy Stamping!
